After her daughter buys her a ticket to Cape Town, Andrea takes the trip from Germany to revisit her old home town and her childhood. She unexpectedly meets her old friend Abeba, who takes her to a children’s village in the African savannah where she is reunited with her first true love, John.

Andrea stays at the children’s village, working alongside John, Abeba and the other colourful volunteers and develops a friendship with a young mute girl, Tarisai. Through her work with the children, her rekindled love for John and her love for Africa, Andrea rediscovers a life she had long forgotten in Germany and learns to follow her heart.
